What to see & where to stay at Meteora

 

Meteora

Meteora is a group of separate steep cliffs among a valley, is famous due to monasteries settled on their tops. To visit them it needs to rise up by foot paths from Kastraki or to ride by car from Kastraki too. The monasteries are opened in different time so to visit them it is better during whole day-two. Tourists stay for a night at Kastraki or Kalabaka, To Kalabaka get the KTEL buses and a trains. From there buses depart for monasteries, so you can stay at Kalabaka and visit them without a car — in summer time, when the buses goes.
