Seven trips to Italy: the firth trip to Conero
To discover Italy I would like to visit not only world known sights, but and rest in mountains and on sea beaches. Last third trip was to Gran Paradiso national park with mount Gran Paradiso, 4,061 m, Alps. This time it was a trip to Adriatic sea, national park Conero, with the mount Conero — a green hill 572 m near Ancona. Conero has a coast with forest cliff and beaches with breathtaking blue sea.

1-st day: Arrival, Conero, Sirolo
…I don’t know what one did with our luggege, but in Ancona airport we got it in condition as one played a football with it. (It was flight via Rome) From airport we got to our place by bus (30 min to Sirolo).
Sirolo
For staying I choose Sirolo. The town has a height 125 m and it was necessary to climb up from and down to beaches about 10 minutes. But the way went among aromatic pines and was a splendid stroll and you can chose the way to walk in Conero forest. Sirolo was ancient medieval town and was so cozy and cute, that we felt us as we lived in a fairy tale. Sirolo had a balcony with beautiful sea and mount Conero views. There was main activity at the balcony — the town square, Piazzale Marino. When we stayed it was July, 36 degrees above zero, so for midday life stopped for siesta till evening. But on evenings Sirolo lived till midnight: at eleven you could see playing children, walking people with doggies and a lot of happy and noisy street cafe visitors. There was a lot families with children, mostly — Italian. There was a camping also nearby. Conero has several pebble beaches. My favorite — Urbani, small and cute with half-moon shape coast, and San Michele — long with wide sea view. Sea water was very warm — for the first time in my life I enjoyed sea swimming so much. It was the best my sea-rest trip in my life.
Hotel Sirolo
Our hotel — Hotel Sirolo**** — was very pleasant place where I enjoyed design every time I came in our room. In spite of the room was only 16 sq.m it has very cute form and every detail was delightful. We had the room with partial valley view, so we didn’t disturb by a road noise behind the hotel. The hotel has an outdoor pool, it was amassing to swim there too, after our long trip to other towns and places or just after climbing up from the sea beaches.
2-d day: Conero, Sirolo
Next day we went to touristic point nearby to arrange an excursion. We choose one to mount Conero, it planned to be in end of our stay, no so lucky: the Conero overview guided tour would be better to take in beginning of the vacation.
After that we came to sea by nearest way to Urbani beach. We spent this day at the sea. Back we came via serpentine long road to Sirolo edge, among very pleasant forest. On the way we enjoyed stunning view of Sirolo at the hill (on a photo above). This way buses go to the beach, if you wouldn’t walk, you can take a bus to or from the beach according the timetable. Once we used it too.
3-d day: Loreto
We went to Loreto by bus (about 40 min. by car — 17 min 14 km). Loreto is not in Comero park area, but located nearby and has a great sight — fortress-church Basilica of the Holy House with the Shrine of the Holy House. The walls of the Holy House were transported from Nazareth, from grotto in Church of the Annunciation. Loreto was built for the Shrine of the Holy House to defend it. Loreto called because of laurel forest was here, when the Holy House had appeared here. The town has a height 124 m and great valley views.
4-d day: Conero, Due Sorelli Beach
There was a sight in Conero, it was a beach of the Two Sisters — Due Sorelli beach. Two rocks upped under water like figures of two praying sisters. The beach reached by sea, by touristic boats from Sirolo or Numana. There was the way by foot too, but it was very steep and long track, about 5 km from the traffic road. We went to the beach from us, from Sirolo. The boat went from San Michele beach left us for a couple hours on the beach and took back(about 20 min sailing). The place was good and for snorkeling. But the best snorkeling was at Portonovo, at another side from mount Conero.
5-th day: Conero, Sirolo
This day we spent at the sea again, twice per day went to the beaches, On the evening we had a dinner just at the beach too. On the morning I got up to meet sunrise, It was wonderful time with waking up birds which met sunrise with me. It was one more splendid day with delights of nature and medieval Sirolo beauties.
6-th day: Frasassi caves and Ancona
Frasassi caves
Next day we went to Frasassi caves, by bus to Ancona(30 min) and then by train to station Genga-S. Vittore Terme (1 h 13 min, by car — 44 min, 60 km), from the station to Frasassi caves one must walk 1,9 km also. The caves were great and beyond the imagination, so not last role played light setting, it was also the art, and as every kind of art in Italy was in favor. We came there about midday and had no problem to but tickets and visit the caves, But I see, now one recommend to book tickets in advance, because of extremal long queue.
Ancona
After Frasassi Caves on back way we went to explorer Ancona. It was pity, Archeological museum was closed already when we came. So we had a stroll, looked at beautiful medieval buildings, the Loggia dei Mercanti, Santa Maria della Piazza church. We also went along fashion boutique street (Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi) and had a lunch. At the end of our Ancona stroll we got up to Cathedral with amassing Ancona views from the hill.(Up the hill a tourist train goes, for one who wouldn’t like to climb up on numerous stairs)
7-th day: Conero, Monte Conero and Numana
Monte Conero
And so the day became to go with guided tour to mount Conero. People was divided to two groups, on Italiano and on English langwidges. As only we were occurred in english group only we and went with a guide, without any crowd. So we could talk to guide and ask different questions. Mount Conero was also our, without a lot of people around. Even on viewing point we were quite alone, only rare people passed by.
Conero, Numana
The guid told us to visit next to us Numana to teste seafood specialties, so we did. Although we had eaten this delicious all time we stay at Sirolo — in various places and various dishes in Sirolo — we appreciated and last our dinner in Numana. It was memorable dinner at open air as we were on a ship deck- it was like final chord of our trip.
8-th day: Departure
Our trip days were gone, it was time to depart. But before breakfast we came once more to meet sunrise and swim at morning sea, after breakfast we checked, left our luggage at the hotel and went to the sea once more for swimming. We had time to stay here for a several hours yet, ,,,But at last, nevertheless, we took the hotel transfer to airport. (the transfer was included to the staying price.)
